American Robin in Snow
My first robin sighting of 2015 was during the snowstorm in early March. I was so excited I almost forgot to snap a photograph. To me, robins and crocus are the first harbinger that spring is around the corner...truly something to get excited about!
The American robin is a migratory songbird of the thrush family. It is named after the European robin because of its reddish-orange breast, though the two species are not closely related, with the European robin belonging to the Old World flycatcher family.
