Red Gerber Daisy - An Concern
The Gerber or Gerbera daisy is a genus of plant from the sunflower family 'Asteracea.' The flower was named in honor of the German botanist and naturalist Traugott Gerber who travelled extensively in Russia and was a friend of Carolus Linnaeus.
There are approximately 30 species in the wild, extending to South America, Africa, and tropical Asia. The Gerber daisy is very popular and widely used as a decorative garden plant or as a cut flower. It's also very important commercially and is the fifth most used cut flower int he world. This is one of my mom's favorite photographs and is also popular with my customers.
The Corrie ten Boom saying reads as follows:
"Any concern too small to be turned into a prayer is too small to be made into a burden."
