Red Pyracantha
Pyracantha is a genus of thorny evergreen shrubs in the family Rosaceae, going by the common names firethorn or pyracantha. They are native to an area from Southeast Europe east to Southeast Asia. The pyracantha resembles and is related to Cotoneaster, however their serrated leaves and numerous thorns distinguishes them from the Cotoneaster.
Pyracantha creates an impenetrable barrier, is aesthetically pleasing as an evergreen, and provides wildlife with cover and nesting, an abundance of berries as a food source, and flowers for bees.
