The Williamsburg Gunpowder Magazine
The Colonial Williamsburg Magazine was build in 1715 by order of Governor Alexander Spotswood to build "a good substantial house of brick" to protect the colony's arms and munitions. The night of April 20, 1775 ignited the Revolution in Virginia when the arsenal was emptied of gunpowder by Lieutenant Henry Collins and a squad of royal marines.
The Colonial Williamsburg Gunpowder Magazine looks amazing when surrounded by the crisp, clean snowfall from the winter of 2013.
