Chapel of The Centurion
Dedicated in 1858, the Chapel of the Centurion on Fort Monroe, is named in honor of the Roman centurion Cornelius, the first gentile converted to Christianity.
The Chapel's design was built based on patterns by noted architect, Richard Upjohn from his book, 'Upjohn's Rural Architecture'.
I felt the church, in it's simple setting, needed to be taken in black and white.
